Island of Sumatra,Indonesia, formerly
known as Island of Gold (Swarnadwipa) meaning it has abundant of natural resources, fertile and
prosperous land. Populated
by more numerous of
special and superior
animal to any place.
That meant special animals it would be include Sumatran Tiger (Panthera Tigris Sumatrae). Sumatran tiger is very special indeed. Although it is the smallest subspecies than other subspecies, where the size of a male Sumatran tiger 42 inches long from head to tail, or about 250 cm from head to foot. Heavy adult tigers can reach 140 kg with a height of 60 cm. Females average length of 198 cm, weight 91 kg. Its small size seems to be an advantage. its become more agile, make it easier to explore the wilderness.
Sumatran tigers have a beautiful color contrast stripes. The pattern of the black color is wide and darker than the other tiger subspecies. The black skin alternating with the stripes color gradation from dark orange to reddish yellow. Sumatran tiger have beard and mane of a lot more than other tigers.
But is the number of Sumatran tigers more than similar animals anywhere, as mentioned above? Unfortunately, it seems that was only in memories. Estimated number of Sumatran tigers only 500. Because tigers are very keen sense of smell, it can smell the aroma of the fruit which is ready to eat. So people (and tigers) just waiting for the fall of ripe durians.
